VIN report methodology
The principles used to turn factual auction data into one vehicle report.
What a report contains
We combine persisted salvage-auction records for the exact 17-character VIN: lot details, dates, photographs, reported odometer readings, damage, title documents, bids, seller information and vehicle specifications.
How the latest record is selected
Auction records are ordered by their published auction date. The archive ingestion timestamp is used only as a technical update time and is never presented as an auction date.
How comparisons are produced
We show only differences between dated records: reported mileage, bids in the same currency, damage, title, status, seller and location. A changed value does not establish why it changed.
Data limitations
A report reproduces facts published by auction sources and is not an independent inspection. No record in this archive is not proof that a vehicle has no damage, sales or other history.
