By using VIN Archive you accept these terms. The service is provided by the operator of VIN Archive.
What the service is
VIN Archive is a read-only reference archive. It reproduces information that salvage auctions published about vehicles and combines it by VIN. The service does not sell vehicles, does not take bids and does not take part in auctions.
We are not affiliated with Copart, IAAI or any other auction platform. Their names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the source of a record.
Accuracy and liability
Data is provided as is, without any warranty of completeness, currency or accuracy. A report reproduces what a source published on the stated date; it is not an inspection, not an expert opinion and not a guarantee that no other history exists. No record does not mean a vehicle was never damaged or sold.
Decisions to buy, sell, insure or value a vehicle are yours and at your own risk. Verify information with official vehicle-history sources and inspect the vehicle before a transaction. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site.
Acceptable use
- Use the site for personal or business reference through an ordinary browser.
- Do not bulk-download, scrape or systematically copy the data; automated access is permitted only within what robots.txt allows.
- Do not attempt to bypass access restrictions, disrupt the service or use it for unlawful purposes.
- Do not impersonate anyone or knowingly provide false statements in removal requests.
Data and photographs
Records are compiled from publicly published auction listings. Photographs originate from those listings and are shown to identify the vehicle record; their rights belong to their owners. If you hold rights and object to a photograph being shown, contact us and we will review it.
Removal requests
A vehicle owner or another person connected to a VIN may ask for its records to be withheld. A person reviews every request and may ask for evidence. An approved request hides the records from public view but does not destroy the data or the decision log. Requests made to hide a vehicle's history from future buyers without a lawful basis may be refused.
Changes and governing law
We may change the service and these terms; the current version is always published on this page. These terms are governed by the law of the operator's country of establishment.
